Register early — always
The early window saves you $200 on the exam fee. With $400 enrollment for first-timers, the difference between early and standard adds up fast.
Enrollment fee is one-time
You pay the $400 GARP enrollment fee only on your very first FRM attempt. Part 2 and retakes do not include it.
Budget for the deferral option
If life gets in the way, a $250 deferral fee moves your registration to the next window. Factor it in — it beats re-enrolling from scratch.
The $400 GARP membership/enrollment fee is a one-time charge paid when you register for FRM Part 1 for the first time. It is not charged again for Part 2 or any retake.
Early registration costs $600 for the exam fee; standard is $800. The registration window you choose does not affect your exam date — just the cost.
You can defer to the next available exam window by paying a $250 deferral fee before the deferral deadline. After that deadline, no deferral is possible.
GARP does not offer refunds on exam fees. You can defer within the deferral deadline window, but cancellation forfeits your fees.
Yes — GARP charges the same USD fees globally. Your bank may apply currency conversion charges on top.
