When Do FRM Exam Results Come Out? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’ve just completed your FRM exam, first of all — congratulations!
Surviving the 4-hour test of mental stamina, quantitative reasoning, and financial insight is no small feat.

But now begins the second test: waiting.

Every FRM candidate knows this phase — refreshing the inbox, stalking GARP’s website, checking Reddit and Telegram groups for updates. So, let’s break the suspense and answer the big question:

When exactly do FRM exam results come out?

FRM Exam Results Timeline: The Short Answer

Typically, FRM exam results are released 6 to 8 weeks after the exam date. This applies to both Part I and Part II.

Let’s break it down with more clarity.

2024–2025 Expected Result Release Schedule

Exam WindowLikely Result Date (Approx.)
May 2025Mid-to-late June 2025
August 2025Late September to early October 2025
November 2025Late December 2025 to early January 2026

GARP does not announce an exact date in advance, but you will receive an email the moment your results are ready — and then you can log in to your GARP dashboard to view them.

How Are FRM Results Reported?

Your results will not show a “pass” or “fail” outright at first glance. Instead, GARP provides:

✅ A pass/fail notification
✅ A performance breakdown by quartiles for each topic
✅ A note on percentiles vs peers, helping you understand where you stood compared to other candidates

This breakdown is incredibly helpful for those preparing to reattempt or those progressing to FRM Part 2.

What If You Don’t Get an Email?

This is common. Sometimes GARP’s result emails end up in:

  • Spam or Promotions folders
  • Wrong email ID (make sure your registered email in GARP profile is up to date)
  • Delayed batches (they send results in waves)

If you’re unsure, just log in directly to https://www.garp.org and check your account dashboard.

Why Does GARP Take 6–8 Weeks?

This might feel long, but there’s a reason:

  • Grading is not just automated. GARP applies psychometric analysis to ensure fairness across exam windows.
  • Statistical consistency checks are done across global candidates
  • For borderline cases, additional review ensures no candidate is unfairly failed or passed

In short — they take the credibility of the designation very seriously.

“I Think I Did Bad” Syndrome — Totally Normal!

Post-exam anxiety is real. Here’s what we always tell our candidates:

“If you found the exam hard, that’s a good sign. GARP exams are meant to challenge even the best — and everyone walks out second-guessing.”

Take a breath, disconnect for a few days, and don’t waste energy calculating how many questions you got wrong. Just focus on resting or preparing for the next phase (Part 2 or certification process).

What Happens After You Pass?

✅ You’ll get an email congratulating you.
✅ You can then register for the next part (if you passed Part 1).
✅ If you’ve passed both, GARP will ask you to submit your work experience to receive the FRM Certification.

Tip: Don’t delay your next step. If you’re preparing for Part 2, momentum matters.

Final Thoughts: Don’t Just Wait — Use This Time

While waiting for your FRM results:

  • Revisit concepts you were unsure about
  • Browse Part 2 curriculum or videos to stay in rhythm
  • Connect with other candidates — especially if you’re planning a study group
  • And most importantly — take some time to decompress

You’ve earned it.
